How do I commission an artwork?

To commission a piece, please get in touch via the contact form on my website or email

Let me know:

• The size you’re interested in
• Where the artwork will live (home, workspace, etc.)
• Any colours, themes, or feelings you’re drawn to
• I’ll then confirm availability, pricing, and timing.
• What type of commissions do you offer?

I offer original, one-of-a-kind artworks created in my signature style.

Commissions are interpretive rather than exact replicas and are guided by an agreed brief.

How much does a commission cost?

Pricing depends on:

• Size
• Medium
• Complexity
• Timeframe
• A quote will be provided before work begins.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A non-refundable deposit is usually required to secure your commission.

The remaining balance is due before the artwork is shipped.

How long will my commission take?

Completion times vary depending on the project and current workload.

Any timeframes given are estimates and may shift slightly as the work develops.

If you have a specific deadline in mind, please mention it when enquiring.

Will I see the artwork before it’s finished?

I may share progress updates at my discretion.

Small adjustments may be possible early in the process, but the final artwork reflects my creative interpretation.

Can I request changes?

Minor adjustments may be considered during the early stages.

Requests that significantly change the agreed brief may incur additional costs or may not be possible.

Once the artwork is complete, further changes cannot be made.

Can I cancel my commission?

Because commissioned artworks are custom-made:

Commissions cannot be cancelled once work has begun

Deposits are non-refundable

If full payment has been made and work has not yet started, cancellation may be considered at my discretion.

Are commissioned artworks refundable?

Commissioned artworks are non-refundable and non-returnable, except where required by UK consumer law.

This includes changes of mind or differences in personal taste.

What if my artwork arrives damaged?

Please contact me within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos of the artwork and packaging.

I will arrange a repair, replacement, or refund where appropriate.

Do you ship internationally?

If international commissions are available, this will be confirmed during the enquiry stage.

Any customs duties or import taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.

Who owns the copyright?

The copyright remains with Catherine Davis Design unless otherwise agreed in writing.

You may display the artwork for personal use, but it may not be reproduced, resold, or used commercially without permission.

Can you recreate an existing artwork?

Each commission is an original piece.

I don’t create exact copies of existing artworks, but I can work within a similar mood or palette.
